( he's not surprised he'd have something like that. he's just a man — at least in gotham — and needing to know how to take down those with abilities that could cause damage and devastation to innocent people is vital.
( he may not outright say it, but he appreciates this. dick, jason, tim... all of them, they want to be around him in some capacity — to know him or even keep an eye on him and given who he is to them in some other place, it makes sense. but it's an adjustment for him. especially when it's just him back in gotham still.
someone like kyle, on the other hand... equals, as he put it. there's a little more leeway there — a little less expectation from him and he appreciates that. it's something he needs here as much as he does others, even if he doesn't fully see the latter yet. )
